The Hachijo Visitor Center serves as the visitor entrance to the nature of Hachijojima. It is located within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park for the purpose of displaying and explaining information about the nature of Hachijojima in a way that is easy for visitors to understand.
At the visitor center, information about the nature of Hachijojima is presented in a variety of formats, such as photographic displays, voice-over guidance, a computer Q&A corner, and beautiful videos screened in our video presentation room. Please stop by to see us!

The visitor center is a 576 m2 (6,200 ft2) reinforced concrete structure, containing an exhibition hall, a video presentation room, and an office.

Program Guidance

Our Nature Interpreters (guides) introduce visitors to the nature of Hachijojima, and help everyone to enjoy the time they spend in nature.

Regular Programs

Guided walks
Guided walks begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Our Nature Interpreters provide guided walks in the area around Hachijo Botanical Park, during which they explain topics related to nature.
Video screenings
Screenings are held every day of videos that introduce seasonal nature and ways to enjoy nature.

- 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m.: "Seasons, People, and Nature"

Other Programs

We also provide monthly public lectures and other activities.

Facilities

The Hachijo Visitor Center was built with a motif inspired by Hachijojima. Inside the visitor center, you can view exhibits and hear explanations about a variety of nature and culture, including the wildlife of Hachijojima. You can also watch videos in our video presentation room.
