Accessing Toshima Island

You can get to Toshima Island by large ferry, high-speed jet ferry, or by air. Tokai Kisen operates daily ferries to Toshima. The ferries depart from Tokyo’s Takeshiba Pier (an eight-minute walk from JR Hamamatsu-cho Station). The crossing to Toshima takes approximately nine hours by large ferry, including a stop at Oshima Island, and approximately two hours and 20 minutes by high-speed jet ferry. For air travel, flights depart from Haneda Airport and arrive at Oshima Island in about 35 minutes. Passengers can then board a helicopter from Oshima Island to Toshima Island. The flight time is about 10 minutes. Another option for reaching Oshima Island is to take a Cessna aircraft from Chofu Airport.
