Accessing Mikurajima Island

You can travel to Mikurashima Island on a large ferry. Tokai Kisen operates one large ferry service to Mikurashima Island every day. The ferry departs from Takeshiba Wharf in Tokyo (an eight-minute walk from JR Hamamatsu-cho Station). From Takeshiba Pier, the trip takes about 7.5 hours. The ferry stops at Miyakejima Island before arriving at Mikurashima Island.
To reach Mikurashima Island by air, you must first take a flight to Hachijojima Island or to Miyakejima Island. To reach Mikurashima Island by air via Hachijojima Island, first fly from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Hachijojima Island. ANA operates three flights per day, and the flight time is about 55 minutes. From Hachijojima Island, you can take a helicopter to Mikurashima Island. Toho Air Service operates one flight each day, and the flight time is about 25 minutes. A large ferry is also available from Hachijojima Island to Mikurashima Island. The ferry departs once per day, and the trip takes about three hours.
To reach Mikurashima Island by air via Miyakejima Island, fly from Tokyo’s Chofu Airport to Miyakejima Island. New Central Airservice operates three flights per day, and the flight time is about 50 minutes. From Miyakejima Island, take a helicopter to Mikurashima Island Island. Toho Air Service operates one flight each day, and the flight time is about 10 minutes.
