Experience Mt. Tenjo, the Highest Peak on the Island, and the Warm and Humid Climate Caused by the Kuroshio Current

Nestled amongst the Izu Islands, Kozushima Island boasts a variety of diverse landscapes from white, sandy beaches and coves to lush, green mountains. Surrounded by the sea, this beautiful island enjoys a pleasant climate all year round, with dry, pleasant weather in the summer, and relatively mild temperatures in the winter. Rising from the center of Kozushima Island is Mt. Tenjo, on which seasonal flowers bloom throughout the year. This mountain is designated one of the 100 most beautiful Japanese mountains for its flora, as well as one of the new 100 most celebrated mountains in Japan. Springs can also be found in various spots on the island thanks to the abundant groundwater. These springs are among the most famous springs in Tokyo, and all manner of edible wild vegetables and plants grow from the blessings of this spring water.
