C40 Cities

A page number:667-663-649

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership group is an international network of cities established by the then mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, which now consists of almost 100 major cities working together to combat climate change. Tokyo officially joined the network in 2006 and has served as Vice Chair since 2007.
In 2008, we held the "C40 Tokyo Conference on Climate Change" in Tokyo, and 1,400 people who participated from 32 cities in the world made discussions about measures to adapt climate change. As the outcome of the conference, it was agreed that 13 joint actions would be inaugurated, and that the cities concerned would cooperate with each other and take actions to resolve problems.
